Representative Matters
- Established new law that state employees have a right to pursue state law breach of contract claims against agency employers in Circuit/County Court without first having to exhaust administrative remedies. Miss. Dept. of Corrections v. Tiffany McClure, No. 2022-IA-01201-SCT, ___ So. 3d ___ (May 30, 2024).
- Oversaw production of millions of pages of documents and hundreds of gigabytes of data as corporate defense counsel in what has been called Mississippi’s largest welfare fraud case (2020-2021).
- Recovered 95%+ of unpaid royalties owed to mineral lessor clients over a 17-year period in litigation against an international oil company and national bank through a multi-million-dollar settlement despite a clear statute of limitations defense (Chancery Ct. of Lincoln County, Miss., 2020-2021).
- Obtained Summary Judgment on behalf of the Mississippi Department of Transportation in a negligence action involving a catastrophic motorcycle accident (Circuit Ct. of Madison County, Miss., June 2019).
- Represented Tennessee-based manufacturer of river barge terminals in multi-million-dollar construction defect claim, obtaining dismissal of Plaintiff’s attempts to bring claims under Tennessee’s Consumer Protection Act and forcing favorable settlement within policy limits (W. D. Tenn., March 2019).
- Obtained Summary Judgment on behalf of Fortune 500 national retailer in premises liability matter (S.D. Miss., March 2019).
- Obtained Summary Judgment on behalf of the Pearl River Basin Development in a wrongful death, premises liability matter (Circuit Ct. of Simpson County, Miss., October 2018).
- Represented regional hotel developer in all areas of transactions and commercial litigation, including sales of various multi-million-dollar hotel developments (2017-2019).
- Represented Mississippi State Veterans Home in Collins in medical malpractice litigation; obtained a full defense verdict through a motion for directed verdict at trial (Circuit Ct. of Covington County, Miss., January 2016).
- Represented Jackson-based commercial real estate company in a lawsuit filed against former owners of two commercial real estate properties; recovered full amount sought through out-of-court settlement (County Ct. of Madison County, Miss., June 2015).
- Represented multiple oil companies in obtaining Order judicially estopping Debtor/Plaintiff from pursuing three related lawsuits against them, ending 18+ years of litigation (U.S. Bank. Court for the S.D. Miss., October 2014).
